# Clover POS Integration

> Install Vero on Clover Station, Clover Mini, and Clover Flex

## Overview

Connect Clover POS to Vero and your catalog and orders sync as they settle at the terminal. That data powers [Pricing Intelligence](https://docs.veromerchants.com/products/pricing-intelligence.md), [Customer Insights](https://docs.veromerchants.com/products/customer-insights.md) and the storefront on your [AI Builder](https://docs.veromerchants.com/products/ai-builder.md) site. Setup takes less than a minute.

> **Digital receipts come included.** Once Clover is connected, Vero also sends an encrypted, itemized copy of each receipt to your customers' banking apps. ## Quick Start

**1. Authorize Integration**

**2. Select Your Merchant**

Ensure you are logged in to Clover, then pick the merchant (business location) you want to connect. Repeat this step for each location.

**3. Connect the App**

If Vero isn't installed on that merchant yet, Clover opens the Vero Receipts listing in the App Market. Review the permissions and click **Connect**.

**4. Start Sending Receipts**

That's it. Your sales start syncing to Vero, and encrypted receipts go out to customers whose banks support digital receipts.

## Required Permissions

Vero requests read-only access to the following Clover data:

* **Merchant** - Business name and address for receipts
* **Payments** - Transaction amounts, tips, card brand and last 4 digits
* **Orders** - Itemized receipt data (line items, discounts)
* **Inventory** - Item names and codes

## Data Structure

When a payment is taken, Vero receives the following data from Clover:

Clover reports amounts in cents and times in epoch milliseconds. Tips are reported separately from the payment amount.

This data is immediately encrypted and transmitted to participating banks for delivery to customers.

## Privacy & Security

**Your transaction data is never exposed.** All receipt data is encrypted using RSA-2048 encryption before leaving your Clover account. Only your customers hold the private keys to decrypt their own receipts.

* Vero cannot read your transaction data
* Banks cannot read your transaction data
* Only the customer who made the purchase can decrypt their receipt

Transaction data is encrypted client-side and transmitted directly to the customer's bank in encrypted form. No intermediary ever has access to unencrypted receipt information.

## FAQ

> **Does this cost anything?**
>
> No. Connecting your POS is free on the Starter plan, with no hardware and no contract. Starter includes Pricing Intelligence and digital receipts. AI Builder and Customer Insights come with the Custom plan. See [pricing](https://veromerchants.com/pricing).

> **Do digital receipts replace email/SMS receipts?**
>
> No. Vero receipts are in **addition** to your existing receipt methods. Customers still get email/SMS/paper receipts if configured. Vero sends an encrypted copy to their bank.

> **Do customers need to do anything to get digital receipts?**
>
> Customers must have:
>
> 1. A card from a Vero-enabled issuer
> 2. Digital receipts enabled in their banking app
>
> If either condition isn't met, they won't receive Vero receipts (but will still get email/paper receipts).

> **Will my customers know receipts are coming from my business?**
>
> Yes. Your business name from your Clover merchant profile appears on all digital receipts.

> **Can I see what customers see?**
>
> No - receipts are encrypted with each customer's private key. Only they can decrypt and view the receipt in their banking app. You can see delivery confirmation but not the decrypted content.

> **Which Clover devices are supported?**
>
> The integration works with:
>
> * Clover Station
> * Clover Mini
> * Clover Flex
>
> Vero connects to your Clover account rather than to a single device, so every device on a connected merchant sends Vero receipts.

> **I have several locations. Can I connect them all?**
>
> Yes. Each Clover location is a separate merchant. Run the install link once per merchant and select a different one each time.

> **What happens if my device is offline?**
>
> Clover queues offline payments on the device. Vero sends the receipt once the payment syncs to Clover after the connection restores.

> **What about voided payments?**
>
> Voided payments don't send receipts.

> **Can I disconnect at any time?**
>
> Yes. Disconnect from the **Integrations** page of your Vero merchant dashboard, then uninstall Vero Receipts from **Apps > My Apps** in your Clover dashboard to finish removing it.

> **How quickly do customers receive digital receipts?**
>
> Digital receipts typically appear in customers' banking apps within seconds of the transaction.
